He's always been temperamental. I don't think he's consciously given up, but if your head's not quite right then that will affect your decision making. That's always been the weakest part of his game anyway -he's an instinctive player not an intelligent one. He's having the kind of season I expected him to have to be honest and Wenger, as someone who works with him everyday, should have been able to predict this.
He was still our liveliest attacking player though.

I thought that too, but a lot of people (not just Arsenal fans) seemed to think it harsh.

Do you not think the fella with the silly beard deserves to be given a chance instead?

Lacazette should obviously have played (I presume you weren't referring to Giroud!).

That's the fella.

The one they paid, like, 50 million for

I get the perception that Wenger sees Lacazette as being a specialist goal scorer, but not offering much more outside of that. He thought in a game where we were likely to be under the cosh, that Sanchez's aggression and mobility would give us a better out ball and help us break out. That's fine in theory, but the problem is is that Sanchez is too undisciplined to play such a role, he likes to wander and be involved all the time.
Me I prefer to see players played in their natural and best position -I'm old-fashioned like that!

I'm at a loss to understan d how Sanchez could be chosen in front of Lacazette at present - He's scoring goals and presents a threat whereas Sanchez (in my eyes) is just huffing and puffing and not doing a great deal constructive anywhere.

I can understand Wenger's rationale (see above), I just don't agree with it. Anyway it's not an either/or, you could have had both in the team.

You'd think that both were better options than Ozil but, hey, we all know he's Wenger's lovechild and can't be dropped.

Fantastic application today. Spurs were resolutely second best in all departments. Kolscielny and Mustaphi were an excellent partnership.

Spurs were desperate but credit to Arsenal - they looked as though they wanted it 100% more than their opposition.

De Gea made a record number of saves (since premiership records began anyway) and we were denied a stonewall penalty. Mourinho gets lucky..again.

Oh do fuck off , you embarrassed yourselves , the only thing that stopped you getting a hammering was our lack of ambition going forward , fergie would have pounded you into the dirt.3-1 is never lucky.

He got lucky in that you presented United with two goals inside the first ten minutes. Absolutely shocking, shocking all round from Arsenal on both goals.

And the stonewall penalty did come after Koscielny should arguably have seen red, so what goes around, perhaps...

There is no luck in any of that. It’s a better team scoring against a worse team. It’s not like the goals were accidents or the result of bad refereeing.

I wouldn't say Utd are any better. Both teams have strengths and weaknesses.

Well they just beat you 3-1 at your stadium and are seven points ahead of you in the table with a vastly superior goal difference, so I do get the feeling they are better.

I thought you were one of the Arsenal fans who were in agreement that the team was in decline and a shake-up was needed, G?

Yes, but that doesn't mean to say I have a prewritten narrative that I apply regardless. I don't think Man Utd are all that superior and I'll be surprised if they maintain that lead over us.
