Unsure about Forest this season. We've got a new manager, a load of new players, and some promising youth players making a play for the first team. Could be great, could be a trainwreck. But if Britt Assombalonga stays fit, every defence in the league will fear us.

The Dutch Revolution arrives at the Madejski Stadium under Jaap Stam.

Reading only best Preston 1-0 but apparently the possession football was at times a delight.

Stats reported at HT showed 82% v 18%. 378 completed passes v 38.

I'm away, but a friend was there with his kids today. Said "it wasn't like we were watching Reading at all". In a good way. Quite excited for this season, let's hope it's not yet another false dawn and we end up begging Brian McDermott to come back two thirds of the way through the season.

On a side note, the Eamonn Dolan stand was apparently really nicely done and everyone was showing much respect. Good, he deserves it.

Two goals for Britt today, so I'm happy.. But we need to be better in defence for sure,

I hope to actually see some games on my TV this year due to our main pay tv provider losing the EPL hence giving us BeIN for free to compensate. The irony being my best mate works for the mob who are now broadcasting the EPL and keeps trying to get me on to no avail

Judging by today, I think your fears are well founded.

Well, who'd have thought it, but after years of dourness, Forest are suddenly playing sexy football! The emergence of the startlingly talented Oliver Burke has been a pleasure to watch, and the addition of Patjim Kasami has added a bit of class and style to midfield which complements the likes of Cohen and Lansbury. Still some worries about the defence, but the arrival of experienced Serbian keeper Vladimir Stojkovic should help shore things up a bit.

Yesterday's 3-1 defeat of Leeds suggests a team coming together nicely. Onwards and upwards!

Always nice to see the East Midlands parvenus being dragged upwards on the coat-tails of Leicester's success. ;)
