You'd think a Spurs fan might be keeping their head down at present, wouldn't you?

If Arsenal appointed Mourinho I would seriously think about abandoning them (fruitlessly, as they are engraved on my soul).

Very worrying times.
I don't think it's alarmist to consider relegation as a possibility. We are certainly in relegation form. Moreover, if you look at some of the characteristics relegation teams have, namely a porous, non-functioning defence and a disharmonious, divided dressing room, then I think we tick both those boxes.
There are couple of quick fixes we can introduce: play Auba as c-f, play Chambers and Holding as the c-h partnership, find a place for Pepe either as one of the three forwards or a winger in a 4-4-2. This will improve us, but we still have huge underlying problems and are in need of a massive rebuild. This, for me, impacts hugely on the type of manager we go for next. We've been talking about a manager who can get us back in the top four and win some trophies. We are way off that now though, what we actually need is a manager who can rebuild the team through building team spirit, organisation and some good old fashioned clever coaching. This is now a long term job. I would be looking at a Howe/Potter/Wilder type manager. I doubt Raul sees that though. I don't think the Arsenal hierachy understand the position we are in.

Allardyce would improve them.

What a terrible thing to say. But true.

Benitez seems good odds at 16/1 though.

Maybe not but my point was that he would improve them.

“Failed and sacked”.... you sure about that?

I think they've finally got themselves a forward thinking manager who isn't scared to stick to his convictions and discard the players who aren't 'team' players.

If they keep Aubameyang (signs are they will) they could just be challenging for top four seriously next year. Willian looks a find addition and I'm sure they'll strengthen in other areas too.

If I was an Arsenal fan, I'd be optimistic.

Willian has put pen to paper

Top four still feels like quite a stretch from 10th, or whatever it was. Plus there's the Europa League to contend with.

Doing better than one of Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea feels like a big ask - but who knows?

Defence is the big issue and a number 10 type (and that all assumes Aubameryang sticks around)

Either way, Arteta looks the real deal

Liverpool & Man City are clear of the rest of the pack.

I look at Man Utd, Chelsea, Spurs, Leicester, Wolves, Arsenal and I think there's very little between them. An inspired signing or a manager who really coaches the squad better could make all the difference. In that respect - Arteta & Nuno have shown at least as much of the latter as the rest.

Blimey!

People mention Arsenal losing 10-2 to Bayern, but at least it was over two legs....

Yet another trophy for Arsenal, albeit just for fun.
