I have had enough of Flash crashing consistently so I'm happy to get rid of it if there's a good and safe alternative- is there such a thing? And if I remove it, is it better to use some sort of tool to remove it or do i do it via the uninstall-function in my own PC

You can largely live without it, but until it's gone completely try disabling it instead.
