A good all in one anti virus malware thing

Postby Minnie the Minx » 07 Mar 2014, 14:18

Just finished my Mcafee subscription and looking for a cheap and reliable all in one bug buster for use with my laptop. Best of sites give you dozens of recommendations. Any suggestions welcome.

I don't know of a good all-in-one, but I can recommend two separate things that have worked for me: avast! for general protection, and SUPERAntiSpyware for cleaning out malware and spyware and such. Both have free editions that are probably perfectly sufficient for your needs (although they will both occasionally try to sell you a "better" version).

I use kaspersky and have been well-pleased with it:

It isn't cheap, but condoms and anti-virus software are two things that you don't really want to find yourself wishing you'd paid a bit extra for a bit more reliability.
