Spyware problem

Postby the hanging monkey » 13 Nov 2011, 15:35

I've somehow got something on my laptop which is claiming that my hard drive is knackered but if I follow the link (and presumably pay a small fortune) then it will be sorted out.

My internet is still working but I can't see any of my favourites, my desktop has disappeared and a few other things are wrong. Obviously I need to get rid of whatever it is that is doing this. My windows security is useless, it won't even update, presumably because of the spyware. I have also updated and ran Spybot, which hasn't sorted it.

Help!

Two free programs you can try:

Malwarebytes

and

SuperAntiSpyware

I'd suggest trying Malwarebytes first - it sorted me out when I was in a similar situation...

No joy with the first one, will try the other one soon.
