A for me, for the King Crimson picks in particular, but the Gong, Caravan, Softs and Wyatt choices are all good. B can't compete even with the inclusion of If's 'Reaching Out On All Sides', and it's Crimso pick is great rather than awesome.

A has very little variety - why two songs by two bands? Troopers?
I'll go for

Well, both lists are better than anything you'll see in the BCB Cup proper. But with so much great music to choose from it does seem a shame for A to repeat a couple of acts, and the overall tone of the list is very Canterbury. I love Canterbury but B gets my vote for being more varied.
turn on, tune in, nod off

Bloody 'ell - isn't it hard when you see two lists full of such seminally robust music!!
And there is another 14 lists of equally sublime quality.
Doesn't it make you proud to be a progger?
This needs thought...!
A has two Gong tracks - that can't be bad and a Hatfields track!
However, B has Quatermass, If, Audience and the stunning Bullet from Renaissance's one and only LP.
Broughton does it!
B

Difficult call this one! B is rather too knowingly Carlssonesque (he's only got 1 vote!) As for A it's a bit early to be doubling up on groups. I'll think on it and vote later!

Indeed
I was thinking about that today.
I don't think you are as stupid as you sound...
I think you would have given your list a tremendous amount of thought and thoroughly trawled Prog Corner to seek out what will entice the other competitors.

I wasn't suggesting the tosser would win - I just know he will give this competiton a lot of thought
He will meticulously plan and do his homework.
That said he'll still go out in the first round.
Maybe

Re: Prog Cup: Round 1, Match 1.
oh, i am so very torn. (it's a good problem to have, mind. there's something so cool about seeing the standard BCB cup format, awash with prog tracks, mwhahaha.)
with the first list, yeah, doublin up on double bands is a problem. in A's defense, the crimson tracks *are* two very different crimson tracks. and when A hits those highs, they are very high.
with the second, of course, more variety, and consistently groovy, interesting variety, even if there's not a high quite as high as court. not many highs quite as high as that anywhere, anyhow, if ya ask me.
a very close call for me. apologies to A.

You're entitled to have your say and vote if you wish, But unless you're taking part, I'm afraid your vote won't count. This point was agreed early on to prevent trolls and aliases from spoiling the party.
