He has worked with and been supported by some of the the best in the industry including Martha Tilston at London's Jazz Cafe.
inley Quaye is the grandson of vaudeville pianist Caleb Quaye. Brother of noted guitarist, Caleb Quaye and afro-jazz musician Terri Quaye. He was inspired early on in his childhood by jazz-musicians, Pete King, Lionel Hampton and Ronnie Scott (Finley’s debut was at Ronnie’s Club) and is the godson of Duke Ellington.
Finley’s reputation was established by ‘Maverick A Strike’, an adventurous but accessible album released in September 1997. Two more albums were released on Epic, ‘Vanguard’ and ‘Much More Than Much Love’. He has gone on to work with and supported by the best in the music industry, including more recently by Martha Tilston at London's JazzCafe.
Finley supports and benefits charities such as, Practical Action, Connection at St Martins, the Gorilla Foundation and the Asperger Foundation. He is delighted to be performing at St Paul’s and helping Iris Theatre support emerging talent in the arts. Finley’s latest album 28th February Rd was released 16th November 2012.
