When I first started on that radio interview, I immediately realized it wasn't an hour-long interview with you, so I skipped ahead to hear your part. I skipped here and there, where the little button would let me, even getting to the end, but hadn't heard any music or voices I recognized (i.e., yours). Then I skipped back a few bits. At one point I alighted on a guitar chord, and you won't believe this, but I knew it was you just from that. The next chord clinched it. I don't know if it was the tone or voicings or what, but I thought you should know. It wasn't exactly like something I'd heard before, but I knew it was you. Then I heard the voice and everything.

At the risk of getting high on my own fumes here, I'd say it's a hell of a trick to pull off without becoming...I dunno...AC/DC or something. The decidedly prosaic act of making the sausage often tends to mean that a person is lucky to get ANYTHING for his efforts, but...yeah, at the end of your labors, you'd undoubtedly want to be on the more satisfying end of the "Hey! THERE he is!" vs. "Oh, hi, John." spectrum (with respect to whatever sort of instincts or habits you might have).

Thanks for a great year. Next record coming in 2018. For my age, that's downright prolific!
