Today, in part two, it's getting to the end of January, and Devon's rather insipid version of the white hell – well, white heck – is back. Before that, though, out and about in London in November/December of 1987

Today, a quick dip in the bran tub of (mostly) the early 1980s, then, in Part Two, a few chilly snaps from the beginning of this month.

Begin with a few visitors to the Mansions in the early 1980s
Image
Glyn and Paul
Two friends from University days. I've known Glyn from the 68-69 academic year, half a century, my second-oldest chum. Paul, older than both of us, came to Kent as a mature student in the early 1970s. He married Frankie (whom you've seen before), and through her we got to be good friends, although we lost touch after Chip died.

Image
Hobson Expatiates
Michael Hobson was a former student of a friend of Clive, who became a friend. The girl, Clive's eldest by his first wife Jean (whom I met when I was ten, when I started at secondary school). She was born in 1974, so I'm thinking this was 1982 or so

Sorry I didn't make it yesterday - major stress events going on in my life right now. But I have a respite. Part one today, sensibly staying indoors in January, possibly February 1988. Part Two goes out and about in Devon at a similar time this year
