Part one digs into the transparency archives from the late 80s or so, while part two gets all giddy and floral in the late August garden

Part Two

All these from a holiday in West Cornwall: sorry I can't identify the particular places (apart from St Michael's Mount, which is hard to mistake for anything else); I did keep a diary of each holiday, but they've been packed away for a while

Part Two

Image
Sweets Various
Jill, who became our cleaner and friend in the mid-90s, serves Ruth, Chip's long-time friend and Brizzle resident,

Image

Image
Mango Sunset
Ruth, Chip and Sally on Mangotsfield Common. This picture and the next one dates these three to 1987, the year
Chip moved to Mangotsfield, and I can tell by the angle of the shadows cast by the setting sun, it's early autumn.

Rellies
Oh I thought at first this must be Xmas, because why else would I be spending time with ma, various aunts
and uncle Ed at Aunt Cissie's place? But the lack of paper hats means this must be a birthday party for Ciss,
which means it's October 13, 1987, when she turned 68. I know the year because of the next but one pic. Edwin,
Hilda, Cissie, Bounds Green, London

Image
Eva and Ma
Same event as above. Eva was the widow of Ma's fourth older brother, Ernie. She worked with Ma fifty years before in a laundry, when Ma was a teenager and Eva in her early twenties. Here's a pic, Eva in centre, Ma on the right.

Crash
The aftermath of the storm/hurricane of 16 October 1987, my 39th birthday. I think this was in Brighton, soon after.
Certainly all the next batch are from Brighton

Sorry about yesterday - long day house-hunting and taking a walk on the beach with Him and Herself left me shattered when I got in, so today I'm getting them in early and slipping in a few more than usual by way of compensation.
Part One, from the prints archive, is feeling kind of chilly in Kenn, sometime between Xmas and Twelfth Night in the years 2007-9. Part One is in Brighton, in the aftermath of the great storm October 16 1987, from scanned transparencies
