I've got a 50% off one item coupon for Half Price Books good for this weekend...I'm torn between Sir Lord Baltimore's Kingdom Come (marked as $55) and Eno's Before and After Science (marked at $25)

Help me, BCB, I can't decide!

Are you joking? I'm playing that Sir Lord Baltimore on YT and I wouldn't pay $10 for it. The Eno record, on the other hand, is excellent.

But it doesn't have the inserts! And I feel like I could run across it again.
I've never seen that Sir Lord Baltimore at a shop, and I like it.
I guess the Eno is the better record.
I dunno, maybe I'll pay bills instead.

When John Lennon's Aunt Mimi died in 1991, her last words were "Hello, John".

My band has been called the best band in the world by several people not actually in it. :)

There is a section for plugging your own stuff called My Way. Alas, if that's all you do (along with the perving on Supergirl), we will all lose interest very quickly. Try to join in talking about other people's music -- start some threads about artists you like?

yeah it's me. I was talking about my current band Negative Tendencies though. and between the 2 I was in a band called The Coming of Age, we have a bunch of songs on youtube also. My partner in that is a musical genius, sort of a cross between Brian Wilson and Phil Spector. Unfortunately he had mental issues, I got tired of dealing with his baggage. Anyway 'jests" don't bother me, ever hear the story about this radio convention where they had this little A&R show, they were playing new records and a panel of critics were commenting? One 45 they played made the head table (and the audience) laugh so loud, the host ended up breaking the record in half. It was Like A Rolling Stone by Dylan.

As for "perving", my feelings for Melissa aren't even sexual, they are spiritual, it's an arena you might not be familiar with.

I've heard some loud laughs in my time but never one loud enough to break a record in half. Do you happen to know exactly how loud it was?

Y'all think that twenty bucks is too steep for a reissue of Pixies Doolittle?
I haven't heard it in years, so I half wonder if I'll get twenty dollars worth of enjoyment out of it.
:?

Also, more in the spirit of the thread, the other day I was listening to Stereolab via spotify on my walk. There was this weird, intermittent beeping effect they were using and it was kinda cool at first but just seemed excessive, like this analog tone just beeping all over everything, even between tracks. "Jeez, Stereolab, take it easy" I thought before realizing that my phone was "pocket dialing" the world's longest telephone number.

I wouldn't pay more than $10 for Doolittle. Maybe $20 for a contemporaneous vinyl pressing. You should be able to get it on cd for cheep

My boss met someone yesterday who saw The Beatles on their second U.S. tour, in Atlantic City. He and his family had second row seats.

young he: "Why is everybody screaming, Dad?"

dad: "Oh, they're probably just doing it for attention."

Tony Wilson, ten years gone.

He is missed.

If it was an original I'd have snapped it up right away. It's a really nice reissue copy...2004 (?)

I'd never play the CD.

Yeah, I think I'll pass on it...

I found a mint original 'Doolittle' in someones garbage one night about 12 years ago, along with an orig. 'Green Onions' and a few other goodies. What are the odds!
