The only Hendrix I own. I can appreciate his genius on guitar and how he set new standards in rock music, but I've never been tempted to buy an original album. Same with Dylan .... appreciate rather than love. Actually prefer his songs when recorded by other people eg Byrd's, Ferry and, of course, Hendrix version of "All along the watchtower"

You’re missing out on some great music then my friend, the three Jimi Hendrix Experience albums are all excellent, forget the others. With regard to Dylan I share your sentiments, preferring his songs recorded by others but there are a few of his albums that I like.

As good as Fairport around the same time? The singer (Celia Humphris) has a voice to challenge Sandy.

I must say I was a little turned off by the title as well C. but read some reviews and finally took the plunge and bought it.

I really like it, he plays all those great songs in a more laid back, soulful, jazzy and relaxed kind of manner, almost as if he's playing in a small club somewhere. They are certainly not straight live copies of the originals. If you like Avalon I'm pretty sure you would like this. Anyway you can listen free can't you on your thingy?

A delightful mix of wooden and electric (emphasis on the former)

Bought this years ago at a boot fair. Interesting Roger Dean cover, pretty poor music.

Agreed - I was always disappointed in there music.

Good musicians but they couldn't write a decent tune
