NP - what an album and what a track

A thing of sheer beauty - in two halves.

Seminally robust?

I think so

Enjoying some Nektar following some auditioning for a recent PSL voting procedure.

Remember The Future (still my favourite), but also gave this neglected curio a spin:

Guest vocal spots as Circus Ringmaster: Hawkwind's own Robert Calvert
It is what it is
Now if only we could all agree on what that was...

Have also been playing this, for similar reasons.
Remember the Future & Tab in the Ocean are my two favourites, Down to Earth has its moments but rather deserves its curio status unlike Journey to the Centre of the Eye is the underrated.

remember the future is easily my fave. reap's as well (he was a nektar freak too.) but that album was special. i used to play it for him when he was stressed out. it always worked.

i love most of those nektar albums, though.

i told c this in PM, but the ice storm is moving in, and just west of me, it's knockin out power. if i can't join in tomorrow, all it means is lost power. we'll all be fine here.

Can’t remember the last time I played this, sounds pretty good for a final album before the split.

I never got around to buying that at the time.

The reviews weren't favourable.

Coincidentally, I played this earlier today:

The first track from their first album. A very good album

I know it's not universally liked (what is) but I really like The Division Bell.

Been listening to a lot of stuff from the Hawkwind mothership ahead of the upcoming PSL, also because I bought this massive Hawktome to add to the groaning shelf of books on or about or by or starring the band:

http://strangeattractor.co.uk/shoppe/ha ... derground/

This is from the Hawkwind Light Orchestra, a chilling addition to their bleak visions of the near future of humanity, only this time drawn from news headlines instead of science fiction writers like Zelazny, Moorcock, Asimov, and J G Ballard.

I like the way there is only the modest hint of 'um...we did try and warn you' throughout the album. Personally, I preferred Space Ritual:

"Welcome to the oceans in a labeled can
Welcome to the dehydrated lands
Welcome to the south police parade
Welcome to the neo-golden age
Welcome to the days you've made"

back when you could put the record away and forget about it and play some Abba...
It is what it is
Now if only we could all agree on what that was...
