Slightly delayed snap!!

Onto Medicine Man as I type, much rockier than I'd expected BJH to be - certainly packing an OOF!

Very robust albums - particularly the debut

You really surprise me C. didn't have you down as having a liking for Kula Shaker. Actually all their albums are pretty good, the most recent one especially.

Three good Purple albums Rob one of which is much better than the other two....

The eponymous third and In Rock remain my fave brace of their studio albums

A corker of an album

Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke, Lenny White and Al Di Meola - what isn't to like? :D

I understand that jazz-fusion isn't everybody's cuppa.

Try this:

A live version of the title track a 'few' years later

Article in Record Collector this month about this lot, reminded me to give it a spin. Like a lot of bands who never made it, good sounds spoiled by weak vocals.

Okay very broad church with the Searchers but Needles and Pins, When You Walk in the Room and Don't Throw Your Love Away are absolutely brilliant and many bands owe them a debt for that jingle jangle sound.

A list was published recently, (somewhere, maybe Record Collector) of a number of prog bands who are largely unknown (I’ve not knowingly heard of any except England) - I am going to work my way through them.

Starting with this one from the hotbed of prog that is Sunderland, released in 1973. If the standard of the rest is up to this one I’ll be very impressed. An enjoyable listen.

I agree, terrific album. My second fave RTF, after No Mystery.

Theses lads put in some most excellent solo albums, as well.

Probably the best of the later Bowie albums.

Yeah, I love both of these. K, is probably the best, but P P & A is pretty out there.

I think it was Sound of Drums, that had a cover Of Hurry On Sundown as a bonus track.

I have now also listened to Captain Marryat and Protos via Spotify - both decent too.

(The others aren’t on Spotify.)
