Karmamoi - Silence Between Sounds

Italian duo + guests. Those guests include Sara Rinaldi on some tracks. Her Amy Winehouse style smoky lounge drawl with an extra layer of sexiness is lovely. Good album, I like them a lot.

Brighteye Brison - V

(You should already know this but, just in case, they are Swedish.) They certainly like long songs... 3 tracks with a total running time of 67 mins. Played it yesterday but a fair bit passed me by. Wasn’t sure about them when tried a couple of years ago but as with most Scandinavian prog it grabs me in the end so will definitely clear the decks for another full play, with appropriate attention levels, over the weekend.

NP

Orion - Le Survivant

French band I am enjoying at the moment (their La Face Visible gets a big thumbs up from me). Their 1st album was 1979, then followed a 34 year gap. This was their 4th release, from 2017, and there’s another one coming out shortly. All sung in French but that’s ok. Nice feel, good guitar and keys, can go a bit AOR at times but overall the albums I’ve heard have been very pleasant.

New album from 25 Yard Screamer - Natural Satellite

They do some really good stuff and some that just leaves me scratching my head a bit. It’s been the same with other albums I’ve played of theirs.

I like this particular track a lot but it is followed by a track that ambles along for almost its entire 14 mins without doing anything much. It’s not bad but it’s a bit boring tbh until the last 2 mins when the guitar kicks in.

Anyway, this I like for the excellent guitar solo.

I have liked this lot for a good few years but some of their stuff has been a little too spacey / experimental for me. This latest album is bang on.

Atomic Time - Out of The Loop

Very decent neo prog from Brazilian band’s debut album from earlier this year. Recommended if you like a bit of neo.

It is not so accessible

Stick with it my esteemed friend

Stick with it

Holdsworth/Bruford- one can't go wrong

Can one?

I agree with PB. Unfortunately the songs just weren’t strong enough, no matter who was playing them.

Thunder & Lightning, by Argent, from their Nexus album.

I've always liked this album. Side 1 is prog, whilst side 2 has more commercial songs. Good stuff.

I think these 3 plus C's posting of Caravansarai are all the Santana you need, really. A wonderful run of albums.
