A Desert Island Album for me for sure.

Such a shame that Tim Smith seems to have disappeared up his own bum never to see the light of day again.

I wouldn’t class myself as a big fan of his, but in the right mood.....

Anyway, after the pre and post release publicity (and reviews) I’ve been looking forward to hearing what this latest album is all about.

I’m going in. Wish me luck.....

Well yes, there’s a lot going on and it’s probably very good, but it’s not for me.

Dilemma - Random Acts Of Liberation

Not sure about the background here - they appear to be a Dutch band formed in the 90s who released 1 album then went separate ways but reformed recently with British prog guy (member of Frost*) Dec Burke who I believe supplies vocals and guitars on this.

Saw a positive review from someone I seem quite aligned to so thought I’d give it a whirl. Yeah, it’s decent. Good tunes, bits of heaviness, neo prog, hints of power pop.... decent mix of the right attributes for me.

Peter Hammill Not Yet Not Now.

8 cd boxed set featuring 100 performances from recent live solo shows in Europe. Material selected from solo albums recent, and going back to the very beginning, also a healthy selection of Van Der Graaf Generator songs from throughout that band's history, including the more recent albums released this century.
And now for an update on today's Shitty Brexit News...

Broad church. Loved this at the time (when Genesis and Yes were about the only Prog I did). Still sounds bloody great.

I love Dare - I think it is one of the most robust albums ever released.

Sadly, this unlimited orchestra version of a great song is not to my taste.

Todd Rundgren’s Utopia. In honour of his UK visit this weekend. He’s a guest on Danny Baker on Saturday morning.
It was raining when we drove up the two-lane highway through the long tunnel of trees that led into the black district on the south end of St. Martinville.

Sylvian and Barbieri are not really my thing but I love Spirit of Eden and someone likened it to that. Quite enjoying it to be fair. Amazing how a recommendation that puts a worm in your head can make all the difference...

XTC - 2 Go

Hmm, interesting and clever I suppose but I don’t really get the big appeal. I think everything they did probably requires more patience than I have these days.

I’m sure this book, to be published in June, will be of interest to viewers of this thread.

RPWL’s new one has grown considerably on me between 1st and 2nd play.

Melodic guitar based rock with big Floyd influence.
