Ouch!

That's a bit unfair....

Not really a great fan of the grumpy old sod but this and Veedon Fleece are classic albums for me.

So far I'm enjoying this even more than Friday's Mother Universe listen - half way through the album as I post.

Well, the second side was perhaps even better than the first. Looking forward to trying Songs and Symphonies, though it probably won't be until the weekend now.

I like S&S myself but it isn’t quite different and iirc C is not overly enamoured.

I think all the albums are terrific.

No, I like it very much - violin in the mix

After a really good run of prog albums with guitar up front they have gone all minimalist with electronica and ambience taking centre stage.

Having played it a few times it’s moving away from what I grew to like about the band but it’s recognisable as Nosound and that’s good. Decent enough....

What an album!

One of my top 10 from the last 10 years (at the moment!). It’s got everything. Tunes, metal, classical, Gregorian chants, church organ, great vocals, progginess, a dystopian storyline.... it’s bloody brilliant.

Mostly Autumn - White Rainbow

Brand new release from the ultra reliable Mostly Autumn. 1st play suggests as good as ever.

Adventure - New Horizon

New to me Norwegian prog band - 2019 release. Pretty good, symphonic prog with some heavier moments. The male vocalist with a slightly operatic tremor to his voice is hard to figure.... good or bad? Not entirely sure yet.

It’ll get another couple of plays and I suspect will then be one of those albums for the “Decent Enough” playlist that I’d be happy to hear again but probably won’t go out of my way.

Pendragon bassist, devout Christian Peter Gee has made a series of albums mainly surrounding his faith, but this new one tells the story of the Bible in 28 tracks and 68 mins.

It’s nice but the tracks are very short and don’t really have a chance to develop into something you can get your teeth into.

Commendable effort and a mammoth undertaking.

Couple of mates of mine are big fans and fancy seeing him this year, supported by The Stranglers. Tbh, not really all that keen but I’ll give it some thought. It is many many years since I played any album of his but this is the one that most caught my ear way back when. (Originally intro’d to it via a free Flexi disc with NME or Melody Maker.)

I’m sure it’ll be a good show but can’t say the music is really me.

New to me. Bit spacey and psychedelic but although not billed as such it has plenty of prog in the mix.

I enjoyed it.

I’m sure I’ve recommended this Argentinian prog outfit before but as usual the achingly useless search facility doesn’t help. Anyway, they started out as a Genesis tribute act then built the confidence / funds to write and record their own material.

Absolutely excellent and highly recommended.
