Excellent Australian neoprog band - this is the 4th (and latest) of a very consistent run of albums.

Drifting Sun - Safe Asylum

One of the really good under-the-Radar neo prog bands around at the moment. Really enjoying their albums, this one from 2016. Give it a whirl. Yes, really, go on, be a devil.

WP

David Minasian - Random Acts Of Beauty

Never heard of this guy? Friend of Andy Latimer (who appears on the excellent opening track), he has produced and directed 9 DVDs for Camel but has also been recording his own music since the 80s. I came to this having read good reviews but not actually expecting a great deal for some reason but have been very impressed. Very symphonic and a whole host of instruments played by Minasian himself.

Another one played yesterday....

D Project - Find Your Sun

Takes a little while to get into them but this band’s albums are generally rewarding and this latest is no exception. Various guest artists from the likes of Glass Hammer, Drifting Sun and Lazuli make decent contributions and the mix of symphonic, heaviness, guitar breaks works well.

Woke up at 6 this morning, felt unlikely to nod back off and decided some dreamy music was order of the day.

Tangs are definitely growing on me after many years steering well clear.

Blue Mammoth - Stories of a King

Brazilian prog (sung in English). This is a decent band, both albums have been good. The singer is pretty decent although something slightly nasally and the accented vowels prevent me from fully enjoying him.
