In the delusional mind of Carlsson only.

New album from Mostly Atumn. More of their usual excellence. Love it.

One of the better / more interesting exponents of the prog-metal genre, this is US band Mastodon's new release.

Bit heavy for my normal tastes but they've got some chops and I enjoyed it well enough.

Nice.

Proper, ground-breaking, original progressive rock...direct from the underground.

I only saw EBB live the once, and it was a gloriously menacing experience.

This is three sides a classic album. Unfortunately, country doesn't really do it for me.

Other than that...stone cold classic!

This is rather good - debut album a long time in the making from Norwegian band with members common to the excellent Magic Pie.

I rather like this after a couple of plays.

Very strong opening track.

Godsticks - "Emergence"

Hard rock with dizzying time signature changes. (Welsh band.)

They didn't appeal to me in the past but having seen them supporting The Pineapple Thief (Jeez, they were LOUD!) I've mellowed towards them a bit and thought I'd give their latest album another try this morning and, somewhat surprisingly, it seems to be clicking with me....

Hmm, played it last night but didn't really do it for me. (Songs are too damned short for a start...!! )

It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

Dutch band Hangover Paradise's debut album "Mirrors" from 2013.

Not bad - bit poppy in places but generally neo / symphonic prog in style.

Like this track a lot.

Prolific Mexican band's recent release. Massively symphonic with loads of strings and good lead guitar.

Superb stuff.

I have dipped a toe into their back catalogue before and quite liked it but this one is different League to my recollections. Anyway they only have about 20 albums to explore so I might be gone for some time...

Seriously chaps - give this to your ears.

They will love you for it.

An early AOTY contender, it really is.
