Love the band, but first play left me underwhelmed and disappointed, something no Decemberists has done before. The songs seemed average and half arsed.Move on 24 hours and on to the second play. It sounded fantastic ....I can't explain why. The last album which had this same effect was Roxy Music debut. First play ....are you serious? Second play .... wow!
