Where would you rate it?

The Strawbs went through many musical phases from folk and bluegrass to prog and quasi-glam.

Dragonfly, their second album, is very different to say Hero & Heroine. That said there is always the Strawbs watermark running through everything they did.

I rate Dragonfly highly perhaps the eponymous debut, in a similar style, is possibly better.

Antiques & Curios is worth seeking out Bob

Yea to Styx, but I've lost my initial preteen love of Kansas. Maybe due for a cautioned reevaluation.

I still have and play all my Styx albums occasionally. The Grand Illusion and Equinox still sound great to me.

Kansas, I have Leftoverture and the rarely played Two For The Road. I feel I should like them more than I do. It may be the violin puts me off. They made a decent album last year with a new singer, and were going to play a UK festival but chickened out through security fears. As if a US Prog band would be a major target for ISIS!

Yes or no?

I am not so keen on the ambient stuff (Storm Corrosion, and some of the early Porcupine Tree stuff and was not completely in love with the last album) but overall the guy’s output is of a ridiculously high and consistent quality, without ever becoming predictable.

A huge YES from me.

Mandrill - s/t 1971

This is all over the place, style-wise. Lead off track sounds like Santana with its heavy Afro-Cuban percussion and raging wah-wah guitar. Subsequent tracks blend soulful vocals with hard rock, psychedelia and jazz. The closing track is a progressive rock epic in five movements.
