Crippled Black Phoenix - Great Escape
Originally from Bristol, I’ve dipped in and out of this band’s music over the last 10 years. Each release seems quite different from the last and whilst that is commendable and makes them interesting it also makes it more difficult to get a full grip on what they are doing / where they are going.
This new release has brought me back in again. Largely instrumental, a bit more spacey than previous albums, without venturing too far into noodly ambience as I’ve felt was the case with some of their stuff. Decent.

Trippy.
Founding “members” of the contrived Bosstown (Boston) East Coast psyche scene of the late 60s.

Dutch band signed to a Polish label.
Leap Day - Timelapse.
Only recently come across this band and whilst they are not Ground-breaking in any way they are highly proficient and significantly far up my street.
This is a 2018 release, but the other albums have also gone down well.

My beloved Dagenham Roundhouse (often referred to as The Village Blues Club) had a reunion last night with headliners Son of Man. Sadly I couldn't attend but this video is nice with George Jones (son of Micky) playing the late Deke Leonard's guitar

Massive riffing and smoothly flowing largely instrumental prog metal (ish) from US band.
Not entirely my thing but i guess they are pretty good at it.
Still feel the same 15 months on.
It’s good, some might say bloody good, it’s just a bit noisy for me. Probably fun to see live. The tracks with vocals at least break the monotony of the heaviness.

Oaksenham - Conquest of The Pacific
Armenian post prog band’s 1st release from 2006. (The 2nd album, just out, caught my attention so called this one up on the absolutely wonderful Spotify to check it out.)
Interesting stuff. Very folky in places, Tull style flute in abundance, with oboe, violin, harp, cello, bassoon and goodness know what else thrown into the mix (oh and plenty of guitars too, incongruously heavy on occasion). Instrumental album of definite merit, with excellent playing from a bunch of classically trained musicians.
Not bad.

Far better than it should have been, considering Clapton' s fragility at the time.

Oak - Lighthouse
Norwegian band’s debut album (new one just coming out). Vaguely reminiscent of the style of fellow countrymen Gazpacho, although the harder edged songs go beyond that.
I rather liked this on 1st play.

Nowhere near their best (for me) but decent enough.
