I’ve been playing a lot of Big Big Train via Spotify, because I bought tickets to see them later in the year in sunny Basingstoke. They are supported by Beatrix Players, who have featured on many Prog CDs and who I quite like.
I’m still not really “getting” BBT and hope that they click with me in a live environment.
What do other readers think?
It was raining when we drove up the two-lane highway through the long tunnel of trees that led into the black district on the south end of St. Martinville.

I tried and was really hoping to like English Electric, but i was disappointed at how derivative they sounded.

I know everyone's got to have influences, but this was mainly an imitation of what had gone before.

They are very Genesis.

Sliced bread isn’t as good as Big Big Train in my opinion.

Yes, a bit of a hotch potch this album, but still with some very fine moments. Uncle Sam's On Mars and Robot, are my favourite tracks, however. I'm a big fan of the Calvert era, including 25 Years On. Great stuff!

Meaty, Beaty, Big & Bouncy.

What a great album! Especially when you add in the bonus tracks of Hotel Room and Call Me A Liar.

Haven’t played this for couple of years but great to hear it again. Very decent neo prog from Poland.

the group did have to shorten its name from the original Gila Fuck because the vice squad kept showing up wherever they played.

3rd and final live album of the day, featuring the massively talented Nick D’Virgilio on drums, guitar and lead vocals. (Yes, he of Big Big Train.)

Absolutely superb.

Very splendid.
