Re: 1,000 pages by Christmas...!
I am just about to play this
- I have had it on vinyl since it came out - 1975?
I remember it not being great.
Perhaps the years have mellowed me.
I'll report back

For such a fine guitarist, it's lazy and uninspired

I’ll give it a try. It’s crazy, everything’s available on Spotify and yet I hardly ever use it.
Too precious about my albums .

I think that sums it up perfectly Chris
I enjoyed the side 1 suite again after all these years but it's a bit of a dog's breakfast - and van der Linden's drumming is disappointing
3/4 of Focus? They missed Thijs!

Not highly regarded by most of the cognoscenti but one of my favourite Beefheart albums. Good call yourself.

Extremely wide broad church, nevertheless a lovely album.

Re: PROG CORNER
Revisiting this today - albums often grow on you with a break of a few months - the unworn familiarity can help of course and this is one of those. Title track linked below.

Dreamy, psyched folk pop prog (CSNY / Byrds etc.) - (sometimes I nearly embarrass myself with my assessments of what an album sounds like. When I read them back I often think wtf are you on about!?)
Anyway.... this is a Swedish band (kind of a super group as all members have an established history elsewhere). I think their output in other bands tends to be somewhat heavier.

They were the first band I ever saw live
1968
Like me, they were no more than kids

Yes, love this one too, especially Beatles and Stones. I first heard that song on a Q cover disc and had to buy the album.
