Re: PROG CORNER
Derivative for sure but some seriously nice neo prog on this debut album from Atlanta. Impressive stuff, largely keyboard driven - unfortunately the vocals let it down somewhat. The guy can certainly sing better than yours truly but on 1st play he’s not a lead singer.
Maybe it’s just a style thing and he’ll grow on me.

US jazz prog fusion from late 80s. Tight as fcuk as these bands usually are and it’s more than ok, if not really my usual thing.
Anyone familiar with them?

About halfway - I'm listening via a Youtube full album, all one track so not sure which tune I've got to - and excellent. Thanks for the heads up!

Whatever possessed me to buy this?
As our new P.M. likes to say 'that's the spirit'.

Their best? I think so.

A wish to explore medieval/renaissance music? I find it enjoyable though only have it as a part of a twofer along with Midnight Mushrumps which is proggier, (but the songs are are better than the suite). Red Queen to Gryphon Three is their prog/folk masterpiece, great variety of textures, moods and some gorgeous melodies.

No that wouldn't be it. I'm guessing someone here, whose opinion I usually valued, recommended it at sometime and I thought I'd investigate - you live and learn.

One of the very first albums in my collection, so obviously very dear to my heart.
I think it was Hurry On Sundown that initially drew me in and from then on I’ve been a Hawkwind fan.
And then came In Search Of Space...

I saw them live on John Peel's Show a week before it was released
MM, or was it NME, described this new band as 'Pink Floyd on acid'
I'd never heard of them and wasn't aware of who Nik Turner was despite talking to him in the queue outside the venue for about 15 minutes!
It wasn't until they came on stage that I realised I was previously talking to a band member

I do, but didn’t know that at the time. However, In Search Of Space is how I’ve always thought of it, so that’s how it is.
