NEW MUSIC

I like Riverside, I don't mind some of Lunatic Soul - but this is Mariusz Duda as solo artist.

Electronic, with some occasional nice guitar chucked in, some voices but not lyrics... (Some of you would probably enjoy it I think.)

Mariusz Duda - AFR AI D. (It's about AI apparently hence the stylised title, which for me is probably the cleverest thing about the album.)

It's just not my bag.

NEW (OLD) MUSIC

Remix of D Project's 2008 album, The Sagarmatha Dilemma.

Very nice.

For a reasonably talented bunch of musos, (I guess), you would think one of them might have had half a decent idea for a cover design. That’s just awful and begs not to be bought.

NEW MUSIC

3 titans of the modern prog world produce another very nice set of songs.

D'Virgilio, Morse & Jennings' appropriately titled 2nd album, Sophomore, builds from where the group's debut left off, with more acoustic guitars and multi-layer vocal harmonies, but with an ever-adventurous musical palette. There is no shortage of catchy choruses, interesting melodies and superb songwriting throughout the 10-track collection that sees Nick D'Virgilio (Big Big Train, ex-Spock's Beard), Neal Morse (Transatlantic, NMB, Flying Colors) & Ross Jennings (Haken, Novena) join forces once again.

I don't know - the elephant on the travel chess set is pretty cool!

As you are all probably aware, two tracks were recorded, with the London Symphony Orchestra, at the Barking Town Hall.

I was brought up within spitting distance of the Hall and was never aware it was a 'viable' venue for this type of concert.

The Royal Albert or The Royal Festival but Barking Town Hall....?

NEW MUSIC

Galahad - The Long Goodbye (their 12th album)

Pretty decent - Stu Nicholson is a very accomplished singer, with a similar tone to IQ's Peter Nicholls, but he doesn't quite appeal to me in the same way for some reason. But they've got guitarist Lee Abraham which is a big plus.

It's useless! We've tried everything. Tests and more tests, transfusions, CT scans, and still no semblance of a melody!
