Something I noticed last night of interest to the goons, I am sure:

John Mayall's Bare Wires album was released in April 1968.

A few months later Canned Heat released Living the Blues. On this album within part of the long track Parthenogenesis is a movement on which John Mayall guests on piano.

It is called Bear Wires.

Get it...?

Did anybody here ever pick up on this or is it old hat?

Saw The Musical Box last night in Guildford.

Absolutely superb, despite a few bum notes and one of the important keyboards failing.

Last 2 songs played were Supper’s Ready and Musical Box - bloody wonderful.

Next year they are doing the whole of “Lamb” - go see it.

Certainly is but found the whole set cheaper than just the album, so it seemed silly not to buy it. Good album.

Name the bands on the cover.

I'll start

Deep Purple (top left)
Julie Driscoll & Brian Auger's Trinity (just below)

Funny, I was going to suggest just that when I posted it. I do know what they all are but there were a few which puzzled me so I looked them up. However I shall post two that I did know before and not spoil it for anyone else.

Sam Gopal - just under Sounds of 1968
Ten Years After - just above the final N in Revolution and slightly to the right.

And the rest?

I'm guessing Status Quo bottom left and Fleetwood Mac second row up, on the right.

Caravan ( top right)
Arthur Brown [Crazy World of] (extreme top left)
Traffic (bottom row far right - second from the end)

I'll give others a go and come back to it

I'll throw in a few. Bottom row, Quo and Genesis, with, just above, Sam Gopal, with a very young Lemmy on left. Over to whoever ...
