Not overly impressed by the Bruce Soord - bit lightweight on 1st couple of plays.
Vly - I / [Time]
This is a rather good debut album. Featuring members of Crippled Black Phoenix (amongst others) it has a real touch of class.

Playing both the Cocteau's Victorialand and The Moon And The Melodies albums quite a bit at the moment. A bit laid back for some, but I think both are lovely albums.

Very mid-term Genesis influenced and jolly pleasant it is too.

I've posted this lot up for each of their last 3 albums, not sure if anyone has lent an ear in their direction.
Norwegian heavy prog, of Crimson style - this one seems a little less heavy than others as it happens.
Reliably good.

I'm not a great one for the whole rock opera thing but on 1st play I'm loving this.
Italian guy called Douglas Docker (yes, apparently) and lots of guests out do Ayreon and others with some excellent songs, plenty of big synths, nice piano and screaming guitar work (Guthrie Govan involved somewhere).
Recommended.

And here's more excellence from Poland - 2014 album.
Great tunes, highest-order symphonic prog. (A comparison reference point would be the band Mystery.)

EP from 2010. Riverside - "Voices in My Head"
1st play for me - 5 studio and 3 Live tracks. The studio tracks are fairly mellow and closest to the latest (excellent) album in style of any of their earlier material.

This is ok as background music, not something to get the pulse racing but quite pleasant.

Been meaning to listen to this for bloody ages - good things come to those who wait, it's excellent.
Very Floydian in places but who's complaining...? Not me.

Polish prog metal band Votum's new release ":ktonic"
It's a bit on the heavy side for me really but they are another good outfit from Poland.

Overhead - And We're Not Here After All
Finnish band - quite pleasant melodic soft sympho prog. Nothing to get excited about but I don't resent the 50 minutes dedicated to it.
