No it isn't my cup of tea neither. Disappointing in more ways than one, especially from Jack, willingly being teamed up with that tepid "soul songstress" who still pays the bills with her first fucking song.

Die Another Day by Madge is worse.

I just heard it for the first time - it's actually quite impressive if you interpret it as an arty experiment involving the removal of any tune, rhythm, structure, passion, dynamics, ideas or fucking clue from music.
Do people still actually rate Jack White? I find the idea quite strange.

I still rate him, White Blood Cells was a massive moment for me musically, so I can't stop rating him. But it's a shame what he's becoming/become you know? This isn't two piece blues, this is pompous shit.

Oh, I wouldn't deny that he had talent - I've never liked the White Stripes much, but they certainly had some songwriting chops and all - but it's so long since he did anything of any use to anyone that it's starting to seem like he always was just a gimmicky waster.

I really liked the last Raconteurs album but that wasn't all Jack. I was disappointed by the last White Stripes album.

I'd agree with that. Jack benefits with some people who know how to do a bit of power pop around him, especially the wonderful (it comes with the first name) Brendan Benson.

And Icky Thump was a massive letdown. I was a big fan of Get Behind Me Satan, it has great songs, some unusual sounds (for them), and I just felt it was a step backwards.

Yes! It was a step back, you're right. I still rate Get Behind Me Satan highly, it drew on the same influences as before but isn't as one dimensional as their previous albums. Icky Thump went backward plus the bagpipes were horrendous (says the Scotsman).

I still think their debut is the best White Stripes album.

Maybe they should just get John Barry to compose another Bond theme. The past few have been useless and almost immediately dated.

I just find it odd. Odd in an odd way, not Beefheart odd or Magnus Pyke odd.

Until she sits in front of a piano.

Agreed. Her astounding musical blandness outweighs physical beauty.

I expect Rihanna will be doing the next one at this rate. Or Leona Lewis

Alicia Keys is a complete honey but dull beyond belief.

Well I'm apparently alone here but I really like it, as a Bond theme and as a great tune in general.

I agree about other recent ones being a bit shit though.

I like it.
It was the best thing about the movie, without a doubt.

Kind of the opposite for me. Liked the last Raconteurs, but also liked the last White Stripes. Never found much to love about Elephant or Satan though. Though I liked the first three.

The Bond song's awful nonetheless.

Elephant had some highs and lows. The better songs on Elephant were among the best songs they've recorded but the rest was rubbish.
