what do you think of this?
Re: what do you think of this?
Sounds like leprechauns shagging Mrs Mills up the arse with Scrotumus from the Norwegian death metal band Aluminium Monkey on vocals. Genius.

As comedy songs go, it's pretty effective - I certainly got a good laugh.
Can't imagine that I'd ever want to hear it again, though, or indeed ever speak to anyone who did.

I quite like the way that in that vid, the kids all look a bit pissed off that the producer's made them dance along to it.
It's also a bit freaky when a giant beardy head sprouts out of the middle of the audience.

I have actually had the embarrassment of playing supporting that lot.
Not my cup of tea.

They go out as a Smokie tribute as well, apparently.

The world was holding its breath waiting for me to post that, obviously......

What could be worse?
How about Freddie Mercury's version?
How about Freddie Mercury's version?
You'd pay big bucks to know what you really think.
Re: what do you think of this?
Funnily enough it's not that different to early ska, you'd just have to make some alterations to the beat and you could get away with it!

You'd have to tighten it up quite a bit to approximate a good ska beat. On that live version that John posted, the drummer is sluggish and sloppy as hell. He sounds like a clubfooted drunk tap dancing in a vat full of Jello.

I'm pretty sure that's the version that was released, T! It's one of the reasons I like it so much - it's so sloppy! It has a very sweet melody, too. An odd number.
It reminds me a little of 'Groovin' With Mr. Bloe' - probably mainly 'cos it's an uncategorisable instrumental from around the same time.

Oddly enough the B side to one of their follow up singles "Oxford Bags" is played in a early ska style-with vocal...
Nice video clip by the way...
He does exactly what it says on the tin

Re: what do you think of this?
I think if you put Rod Stewart on vocals it would probably sound like The Faces. Amiable, pissed sounding nonsense. I like it. If only we still lived in an era where a piece of off-the-wall cobblers like that could be a hit!
Third,
Third and bird,
Just across the street, where the birdies meet,
Going 'deet, deet, deet'
Third, third, third, third and bird.
