Sexy southern belle plays mean bull fiddle

Postby Neige » 10 Dec 2008, 22:08

My second fixture after the jolly-up in London last weekend was a concert with this little double bass-slapping lady, Sunday night at the Borderline Club.

Her singing is idiosyncratic to say the least, but the songs are great, she's cute, the band rocks and swings in equal measure and the guitarist is a very talented allrounder clearly influenced by Richard Thompson. I had a fantastic time, anyway.

Here's her 'hit' as played on Later (where she also did a great Carla Thomas cover).

Only two days later did I see that there's a one-page article about her in the latest Mojo.

What does anyone else here make of her?
