Robbie Robertson looked fantastic in the Festival Express footage. This isn't the image I was after but has some of the same vibe:

I came across this the other day, and don't believe I'd seen it before. Great composition and colours.

I've always loved this picture of Townes van Zandt, Susanna Clark, and Guy Clark, although in this picture below there's a 4th person and i don't know who it is - he's always been cropped out in the picture i know of.

Taken without a flash in The Cavern on 19th February 1963 - the first day The Beatles had topped the UK Singles chart.
Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.
If you tell the truth you don't have to remember anything.
When I was a kid, I inhaled. Frequently. That was the point.

I really dig these ones of Irma Thomas playing at the New Orleans Jazz Fest back in the 70s:

This one of Mahalia Jackson with Duke Ellington is great:

I love this picture. I'm pretty sure that girl right under George's (?) elbow was the one shown in Anthology lamenting that the Beatles are no longer 'theirs'. Looking at how forlorn the girls are on that night drives home that realization they must have felt that night. Amazing picture.

I saw her on something just recently - when it was the anniversary of their first Cavern performance. Apparently she'd been there for it. She still looks about the same, only fifty years older.

I can't seem to find a copy of the picture online, but a local bar has a massive print of this great Fats Domino picture, just a closeup of his right hand on the piano keys, sporting a massive piano-shaped ring and a cufflink that says "Fats." Here's a picture of the picture, which is the best I could find:

Here's a similar one:
