Music bargains

Postby Bad Ambassador » 28 Jul 2006, 21:07

I've thought for a while that this might something worthy of a thread - possibly even a sticky! As lots of us frequent online record retailers I reckon it might be worth having a thread where you can simply shove a link and a quick explanation whenever you find a particularly noteworthy bargain, whether a sale price or simply a good deal.
Naturally I expect this thread to die a death, but I'll kick it off with this...
Johnny Cash - Walking the Line - Sun Recordings 3CD set £3.99 delivered

Is that McCartney CD/DVD thing still on offer at Amazon? Hell of a bargain, that.

Spotted (and purchased even though I already own them- couldn't resist such a bargain!) at one of those Virgin spin-off stores you get at outlet malls (can't remember the name... XS or summat?)

Spoon - Gimme Fiction - 99p
Marjorie Fair - Self Help Serenade - 99p

Due to a cock-up on HMV's behalf, this little box is available for £5. It should say £13 on the box, but if you inform a member of staff you saw it listed for a fiver in their monthly magazine they should oblige you by selling it at that price. At least that was my experience, a very satisfying one. Which is a bit sad.

I suspect that Piledriver and I may be the only ones to appreciate this but:

It is just an offer on that one. The rest are still full price (for the remasters).
Of course, I was mostly stoned at the time.

Well you can pick up all the unremastered TH's albums cheaply in a few places - it is the remasters which are still full price.
