Twist and Shout
"Twist and Shout" is one for the ages, one of the great early anthems of rock and roll. Whether is was The Isley Brothers, The Beatles, or even Brian Poole & The Tremeloes, "Twist and Shout" is not only the best song from the Twist craze, it has stood the test of time overall. Which is your favorite version, or perhaps more definitively, which is the best version? I say The Beatles. Brian Poole & The Tremeloes' version has a certain period charm and a nervous energy, but they rush through it, and really, it can't hold a candle to John's performance.

Only know it by a couple of others but The Beatles’ version is the one that has always been the best for me.

The Mamas and the Papas suck the life out of it, but I don't skip it, because - oh, those voices.
