Opening track is very theatrical sounding. Trippy guitar solo, a little wah wah. A good start.
Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?

It's difficult to believe that Alex has been dead over forty years ago.

A sad loss - a great voice and performer

Sadly missed

Zal's lovely, but does he emerge from the kitchen with a hefty man-sized plate of Doobs, or just more indelibly memorable riffs?

Stick with tradition, Lad.

They're a very theatrical band - stage routines, props, outfits. Harvey was a veteran performer by the time SAHB were formed and had been planning a rock revue style for a while.

I barely know this album.

The studio versions, yes.

But I was brought up on SAHB albums on US Mercury Records that were deleted and sold cheap.

Then comps.

Then several live BBC and live releases.

Took decades for me to get around to acquiring this, on CD.

I like it a lot.

The best introduction to SAHB?

Debatable.

Mine Was Tomorrow Belongs To Me.

Fabulous album.

"Vambo." I think someone used this is one of the Cups. I like the energy. Powerhouse drumming and guitar/synth riffs.
Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?

Skipper, did you join the BCB outing to the Underworld to see SAHB this century, with the late Alex portrayed by an actor live onstage, and film clip projections?

Bit of a curate's egg, I thought. But quite the celebration of passed achievements (sic).

A difficult call.

I'd put a gnat's worst between the first four

If push came to shove it would be between Next and The Impossible Dream

But my vote: The Impossible Dream
