An Old Raincoat Wont Ever Let You Down
Gasoline Alley

Never A Dull Moment

You mission should you chose to except it is to rank/rate them in order of goodness.
(I draw the line at 74, tho I contend the last great Rod song was Blondes Have More Fun)
What is the best Rod Stewart solo album ?

I'd be very surprised if anyone would vote for anything other than Every Picture for first place.

Every Picture is objectively the best though I prefer NADM personally.
Never a Dull Moment
Every Picture
Gasoline Alley
Smiler
Footloose & Fancy Free
A Night on the Town
An Old Raincoat
Atlantic Crossing
Blondes Have More Fun
70s completism
Footloose contains his last truly great song in I Was Only Joking
Everything after that is covers and rubbish - sometimes both simultaneously
Never a Dull Moment

Complete Ramones Mp3 set on its way

In this order:
Every Picture and Never A Dull Moment are pretty much equal to me
Gasoline Alley
Old Raincoat and then
Smiler, Atlantic Crossing, Night On The Town, Blondes, Tonight I'm Yours, When We Were The New Boys, Unplugged, Time, Another Country and Absolutely Live
- are all very listenable to and enjoyable. Apart from the American Songbook albums Human is probably his nadir.
Always had a soft spot for Rod and generally speaking there's something worthy on most of his albums, although they don't reach the heights of his earlier 70's work.

Good old Roddy!
I only have two:
An Old Raincoat Won't Ever Let You Down
Every Picture Tells A Story
I rarely play either but that order

After Mercury it went a bit downhill, but there's good stuff all the way up. Except for the Songbook CDs - they are COMPLETELY redundant.

This would be my list. I like Atlantic Crossing but overall it isn’t as solid as the above. AC was where I got off the bus.

This looks right to me. NADM over EPTAS because it's more fun, a bit deeper actually (in the form of "I'd Rather Go Blind", an inspired choice), Sam Cooke is better (and closer to Rod's style and heart) than Tim Hardin, and I resonate more with "You Wear It Well" than "Maggie May".

You Wear It Well is his greatest composition
We have all been in that situation - the one that got away.
Not many of us end up with a middle aged hooker when we are still schoolkids.
It has Lost Paraguayos on it too - and Italian Girls and Mama You Been on my Mind

Re: What is the best Rod Stewart solo album ?
It’s a very close second for me. I Know I’m Losing You and the title track of the other album still makes it for me though I do like the other obvious hits as well. I remember learning the mandolin bits on my 12 string guitar for Mandolin Wind and discovering it was possible.
You Wear It Well is indeed a great song.
