It basically serves to remind THIS fan of how few frame-worthy album covers they really had.

Most of them work better as actual whole album packages than single front covers, tho both Stand Up and Tool Old To Rock n Roll look good.

Limited to 75 copies of the super deluxe signed version he is talking about.

https://jethrotullart.com/products/jeth ... mplete-set

£1,800.00
($2,353.00)

Ian is signing every print in each box. That is 1,200 signatures in pencil.

Wow.

Once the divorce actions triggered by this item start appearing, it will be interesting to see the balance struck between reckless squandering of limited household resources, and the unreasonable demand to decorate the marital home throughout with Ian Anderson's face.

I wonder how long it will be before every long established band starts doing this?

This Was and Thick as a Brick are two of the best album covers of all time. Stand Up is good too. The rest kind of aren't! Who's going to frame the abomination that is War Child??

It's funny Jim-lad but I love the album so much I have never really paid too much attention to the cover.

Until today.

As you say the cover is not great...

Yes, I can relate to that actually. It didn't bother me for years, but at some point (last couple decades) I just started looking at it, like, hunh where did this idea come from?? Apparently the skyline is the city of Melbourne. Not sure why!?

The back cover is better and more how I think of the album, as a series of separate "scenes" maybe.

Interesting!

yes, the back cover (or part of it would have made a much better front)

The Melbourne thing is interesting.

I will have to get my Tull researcher onto this one

Not a great cover, but its ok. Great pity they never made the movie (https://web.archive.org/web/20060318070105/http://www.j-tull.com/fans/surprise/july2003.cfm) the outtakes from this era are amazing, could have easily been a double soundtrack album. Love the orchestral pieces and plenty of great tracks left off the album.

So there are not actually any records or cds - it is just a bunch of pictures?
