A Polish cousin & her husband came to stay with us that summer - their honeymoon. One day we drove to London - 4 adults, 3 children in a Morris Oxford, parked near Hyde Park - think we were on our way to many of the sights (Tower of London, Houses of Parliament, Buckingam Palace, 10 Downing Street etc.) Can't remember our actual destinations, but there was obviously some concert or happening in Hyde Park - hundreds of Hippies heading towards the sound of music. I remember being entranced by the sight and sound, very different from my country tinged suburban childhood experiences, and disappointed that we didn't investigate the occurrence.
still a colorful pic of the then, then
The only thing I recall of the Summer of Love/Flower Power that ties it to the period.
From Past Archives is a gem!
i was 4 in 67. i remember the beatles, the stones, and my older sister wearin mini skirts to school, mwhahahaha

You weren't by any chance at the Ginger Baker's Airforce performance at the Royal Albert Hall not long after, in 1970, by any chance, were you?

From WIkipedia:
Roger Chapman and Charlie Whitney were quoted in ZigZag magazine (reprinted in both the interview anthology book "The Road To Rock", and also the "Old Songs New Songs" cd box set which includes this album - and in the link above, of course) stating how they disliked the mix of the album Family Entertainment where most of the songs on Old Songs New Songs originally appeared. So they re-recorded a number of vocals and elements and remixed those tracks for the later compilation release.

Yes - I've always been aware of that
A bit hard on the 'originals' methinks

As much as I love Roger C, I have to say they lost a great deal when they abandoned having several vocalists on their albums.
