Overall thoughts on 4/Fourth:

Wyatt's tubs are fine, but nothing special.

I miss guitars

Too much Elton Dean. Not a complaint with his playing, but he rather dominates the proceedings.

It's ultimately "just" jazz. Perfectly competent jazz, but nothing to make it stand out compared to what US jazz musicians were up to at the time.

I have always preferred the next three. Perhaps a fresh listen would be good.

OK, the last two parts of "Virtually" do start to perk things up a bit when it gets into that backwards and fuzz bass stuff. That's really the only hint of what came before (AKA My Favorite Period) that I can detect.

Afraid I'm a bit doubtful for this...might be able to catch the beginning, at least.

A great album, needless to say (though some days I prefer Henry the Human Fly...)
