Liz Fraser (Cocteau Twins) & Steve Hackett
I've been talking about writing a book - 25 years of TEFL - for a few years now. I've got it in me.

Wow. Thanks for that. I've loved NMA for decades but I had no idea that existed. What an insane pairing! But I actually think it works.
And my god, what a sound Justin gets from that SG

Tiny Tim with Nurse With Wound and Current 93
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

^ Thanks, that was fun - never knew about that before.
Can't say I saw either Penn or Teller in there, though.

Apologies, poor quality lookalike joke

Good one. Steve Hackett and Richie Havens is perhaps another surprising one (and from the same LP), but I think Randy Crawford is a more unexpected collaborator.
now with added chaos

Hackett played some rather beautiful classical guitar with Liz - just one tune I think - when she did her solo gigs at the RFH a few years ago. I think it was Anthony & The Johnsons Meltdown Festival (I could be wrong).
Speaking of Hackett, I found out that Nick Beggs - the weird blond barnetted Chapman Stick worrier from Kajagoogoo - plays bass in his touring band

(I don't know why that's funny, Beggs is a very accomplished bassist)

Lulu - which to my mind really is much better than its reputation suggests. I was initially one of the many who at the time were guilty of dismissing it without having heard it.

Cool, didn't know that. Fraser sang on Gabriel's Ovo album. Which is very good. She duets with Paul Buchanan from the Blue Nile.

Nick Beggs is bassist for Steven Wilson too. He is an excellent bassist.

Did I imagine that clip of Steve Hillage soloing with a Live Sham 69 At a festival?
