RIP: Johnny Rogan

Postby Carlisle Wheeling » 12 Feb 2021, 17:51

Such sad news. I'm not a Byrds man but I bought Johnny's Neil Young: The Definitive Story Of His Musical Career back in 1982 and have picked up quite a few of his other books since.

His books were always so easy to read and he always struck me as having a genuine love of the music. 67, speaking as a 68 yr old, is no age at all.

RIP.

Only read "Morrissey and Marr" and it was an excellent read about the main men in my favourite band. RIP, Johnny, and thank you

Fucking hell. I saw this without my glasses initially and thought it said Johnny Rotten.

Very sad. Speaking as a Byrds man, his books on that subject - the ones I've read, anyway - are splendid. His Kinks book is probably the best on that subject, too. RIP.

The Byrds book is great. Way too young. And part of a dying breed to begin with, so it's a double loss.

RIP.

Ah. I was at college with him in the early 80s. Very intense fellow.

Sad news.
It is what it is
Now if only we could all agree on what that was...

Yeah, I've heard that from a lot of people. I enjoyed the Van Morrison book, as well. Not the easiest topic!
