In all fairness Googs didn't say that the list was definitive or anything, just his own personal top ten.

I'm not counting the Krautrock-stuff towards electronic bands...Can, Neu and La Dusseldorf had more of a rock band feel to it to be called properly electronic. Ash Ra Tempel mixed long ambient pieces in amongst spacerock-elements so it's a little less clear with that one.

I appreciate that Googs list was his personal top 10.

Ditto with me. As a prog goon I know not to talk 'definitive' - I am not sure that exists and there certainly wouldn't be a consensus between say a prog goons like you and me mate!

I constructed my list basically from ignorance as I am not sure how 'electronica' is defined.

I included a couple of modern bands (eg Tubeway Army) but I have no idea what whippersnappers would include.

Coil is a form of contraception...

Anyway, whatever, lists are always fun and who best to share it with then goons, quasi-goons, semi-goons and non-goons!
