Top 10 by Joe Cocker

Postby GoogaMooga » 04 Jan 2021, 21:21

The best of the many comps is this slimline double. Most of the really interesting stuff is on disc one, and my top 10 are all from there.

unchain my heart
feelin' alright
summer in the city
up where we belong
you are so beautiful
with a little help from my friends
the letter
delta lady
many rivers to cross
she came in through the bathroom window

His first three LPs satisfy me.

I can't even think of a Top 1. I prefer my singers not to sound like they're passing an extremely large jobby.

The other bloke is Tony McCashen.

But is it Donald Duck Dunn? All sources talk about Don Dunn.

Can you believe I have not heard that before?
Just played it 3 times.
It's great. Thanks.
Could imagine Arthur Lee and Love doing a great version.

No it's not Yves. It's the songwriter Don Dunn who played and wrote with the aforementioned Tony McCashen
Thanks for letting me off with that ;)

His version of The Letter, studio version, with Mad Dogs and Englishmen is a stunner.

Fab! I still prefer the more familiar live version, though. The somewhat clunky drums bother me.
