Love "phasing" eg "Rainbow chaser", "Lazy Sunday". Seems to be a very "British" effect, though.

I'm a big fan of phasing. You can do a lot with backwards tapes, though. Hard to decide. Also, if sitar and theremin can be considered "psychedelic effects," why not fuzz and feedback?
Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?

They predate psych, think of Link Wray et al - but admittedly featured prominently in psych, so they should have been included. They will have to fall under "other" for now.
