I can't say enough about how much I love this song.

Am I reading too much into it finding it significant that "Bewlay" sounds so much like "Bowie?" Or that he's linking his biological brother with his "invented" name? As if he's hinting that his 'creation' is in part connected to his real-life reality?

Nah, I think I'm right on.

In fact I think the fact that he uses the same "crazy" voice on his cover of "See Emily Play" (written by another big influence with emotional problems) is another hint.

as i said, i love the lyrics here. they act kinda crazy but there's such a method to the madness. kinda reminds me peter gabriel on the the lamb album. okayyy, i'll leave that thought for now. yeah

Thanks all, fab evening!

To absent friends, notably Ronno, Trevor, Brian (photographer), and of course, the man who fell to earth himself, happy b-day DB!

*chink*
And the January man comes round again
In woollen coat and boots of leather
To take another turn and walk along
The icy road he knows so well

Interesting observations. I’ve never thought about a connection before. Now I will.

Floppy Boot is an incredible track

Bruce Fowler's trombone throughout the album adds so much

One of Zappa's boys is Bruce
