Now some proper pianistics (on Sea And Sand).
This is not the year to think about what we don’t have.
It is the year we should be grateful for what we do have.

What's awesome about Quadrophenia is its consistency. There hasn't been a duff track yet. No filler. One could even posit that the second LP is every bit as great as the first. Better?

This album took me months to appreciate in 1975, I was not sure if I even liked it much. Then it took decades to really love it. Can you imagine audiences in 1974 hearing to for the first time live while Townshend tries to explain what is going on in between songs?

The beach sounds (seagulls, waves, etc.) work really well.

Love "Bell Boy" too. Sting did the role in the movie - which, since no one is talking about it, is fantastic! We may debate the relative merits of Tommy vs Quadrophenia as albums, but as films, I definitely prefer the latter.

How many discs?
The original U.S. cd put 1&2 on first disc and 3&4 on number two and they were separate cd covers and not a clamshell.

Keith hasn't sung this much on a Who track since 1966.

Bell Boy has a similar chord progression found in Tommy and heard last week on the Live At Leeds album.
