£500 for the bluesound box seems like a lot.

The difference, compared to Alexa or your computer will blow you away. It’s less than a couple of £s a day over your first year of ownership - a bargain.

Worth every penny/cent - it is fantastic!

I think my Aktiv Linn Keilidhs should be adequate. I’ll be getting my LP12 deck serviced and a much newer Cirkus bearing put in (this will only make any sense if you know about Linn decks). I’ll be like the bloke in the Memorex advert.
The room also has a 65” tv in a recess in a wall, I made the vendor leave it as a condition of our offer. Mrs J will have her own 45” tv in the kitchen/diner/lounge. I might see her occasionally! ; )

Linn have recently introduced a Karousel bearing. I’d go for that one.

The Karousel is £750. My friend got one so I bought his barely used Cirkus to replace my 25 year old one. I don’t have a spare £750, which incidentally is what I’m having to pay for a crown as one of my teeth fell apart a couple of weeks ago.

With the resurgence of vinyl, it needs to connect to hifi so sales should be healthy.

I love my Linn/Naim set up. Best thing I ever did was leaving in switched on so it's warm and spacious when I play music.

Used to have a similar Musical Fidelity set up C. pre amp and power amp combo - the version with all the heat sink ridges at the top (see image below), sadly one of the components blew up and I replaced the set up with a Musical Fidelity integrated. That has now departed many years ago and I replaced that with Exposure kit.

I had that set up too.

I can't exactly remember the circumstances but it was in my 'mad' period when I was changing hi-fi components every three or four months!

I remember the ridges so well!

Talking of Musical Fidelity kit this is a great box (headphone amplifier) which sits on my bedside with an arcam CD93 player

Another Exposure user here. 3010 series pre amp and twin mono blocks.3010 CD player was unavailable at time of purchase so got a good deal with 2010 CD player and 3010 DAC for same price. + Q Acoustics concept 500 speakers. ANd yes it is permanently on.

Snap! 3010 S2 preamp and twin 3010 S2 monoblocks - they make a great sound don't they? Already had the Exposure XXII CD player, spent ages trying to find a CD player that had the warmth of vinyl and not the fatiguing harshness of CD, did the trick. Do you have a turntable, if so have you tried the Tom Evans phono amp? It's a brilliant piece of kit, an absolutely astonishing upgrade to sound quality.

I f anybody is curious about phono stages, Graham Slee do a loan programme just for the cost of postage to and from....a great way to find out if an investment brings anything to the table...I have an Accession m.m stage, and am fully satisfied with it. The Slee Gold Era V is also very well regarded...I may just have one in hibernation should anyone be interested...

Those Musical Fidelity amps - The ones C owns and the ridged ones - were designed by Tim Di Paravincini who is a bit of a Hifi legend. I’ve forgotten how to post photos here but Google EAR Yoshino and check out some of the stuff he has made for his own company. I lust after an EAR V12.
