I chatted to him once at a Strawbs concert in Twickenham. He was quite friendly. Told me he left because the band’s direction had changed and that he now ran a studio.
The house that Clete’s musician friend had told him about was a sun-faded pink art deco place stuck back in a cove where a desiccated shrimp boat lay on its side in a slough overgrown with vines and palm and persimmon trees.

Good story - and good to hear again.

Yes, it was clear the direction the band were going was not to Tony's liking or style.

The Illuminati will be selecting from the first three albums where his song writing influence was greatest

Watch the space Mike - hopefully you'll join us.

Let me know if you need an alarm call

Have we done the first S/T album before? That'd be my pick, but I'll make every effort to be there whichever it is.

Antiques & Curios is great, of course, but I think we've done it already fairly recently?

No and that's good

Antiques & Curios is great, of course, but I think we've done it already fairly recently?

Yes and yes but not recently

The Illuminati are in the process of voting on the first three albums where Hooper's song writing influence was greatest.

However, still black smoke Dave my dear friend

Still black smoke
