Anyone watch the shows on Fri night? Read elsewhere they weren't particularly good with annoying bite-sized excerpts rather than full songs

I thought she was great until she got into dance music. Haven’t listened to her in a long time now.

She was the disc jockey [can we still call them that?] who was at the Lyceum, Strand gig in 1971 when I saw, on the same bill, Black Sabbath, Ten Years After and Jethro Tull for 10/- [ten shillings/50p] and chatted to Phil Lynott on the next table for about 20 minutes

The main thing for me was that, irrespective what she played, she was the first woman [BBC Radio 1 presenter] in a very man's world

Good on ya Annie!

I loved her Sunday evening show. Trendy students requesting name checked bands in NME. Peel let me hear the weird and wonderful but Annie was probably responsible for me hearing the likes of Spirit or Love for the first time.

I once shared a taxi with ANne Nightingale and she paid the entire trip + tip even though I was going further. We'd been guests at the same wedding and having spoken to her earlier she said her musical hero at the time was Pete Shelley.

Which would explain the playing the music video of Shelley singing "Homosapien" in full (as it's actually not that great)

The Sunday evening show was a must listen. This song was played a few times and was a great discovery for me:
